About Us
The Story Behind Element Mountain Homes
Carpentry
Steve Knudsen was born with woodworking in his blood. His grandfather was a lifelong carpenter, and Steve knew from an early age he would follow in his footsteps.
Architecture
After completing the Architectural Technology program at the Southern Institute of Technology in the top of his class, Steve was hired to work with the esteemed Gibbs Gage Architects in Calgary. He completed many notable commercial design projects during his tenure there, but his heart was still in carpentry.
Custom Homes
He transitioned to custom home building in 2004, and never looked back. Element Homes has been delivering custom built, high quality homes and commercial projects to happy customers across B.C. and Alberta ever since. Steve moved with his family to Fernie in 2010, putting him closer to his other passions in life – fishing and skiing.
